Hellion

Hellion
Hellion has had a few different line ups over the last 5 odd years, in it’s infancy it was a rock outfit. Some notable past members from a Buxstock perspective are Nick Hajnal & Mick Field. With its current members it has evolved to a full on Metal band.

Dave (guitar/vocals) has close to 40 years of musical experience, major influence is classic Metal. He cut his performing teeth in the early ‘80s in Mirror Mirror, who were regulars at the legendary Bombay Rock, supporting the likes of Spit Enz, Ted Mulry, Wilbur Wilde & others of the era. They went on to be regulars on the thursday metal nights at Bombay with bands like Stingray & Taipan. Dave has played with all the Buxstock organizers on numerous occasions & jammed with many of the Musicland regulars.

Pete (bass guitar) is an enigma when it comes to extracting information from. Has 15 years of experience,
influenced by a large range of genres, previous bands Double Vision & the Frank Reno Band. Other than that, as he so eloquently puts it “I’d rather let my Bass do the talking”

Brad (lead guitar) with 17 years of experience behind him Brad is not only a naturally gifted guitarist but also a talented Luthier (guitar maker) Metal is his major influence & some Funk. Has played in numerous outfits over the years including POW but gained most of his exposure on the Melbourne music scene as, dare I say it, the standout lead guitarist in the three lead guitar attack of the Iron Maiden Tribute band – Pumping Iron.

George (drum guru) hmm.where to start, the current Guiness Book of Records holder for most drum beats in a minute is a good one! Speed is an obvious advantage for drummers, but it’s George’s, skill, class & passion for his craft that sets him apart.

George has been playing for 25 years now, a wide variety of influences including funk, fusion, prog rock but it’s Metal that is obviously his major passion & what pushes him into overdrive. Has played with Thomas Lang (Germany), locally with Lucy’s Crown, Frank Reno Band, & if you didn’t look hard enough you would have thought it was Maiden’s Nicko McBrain behind the kit of Pumping Iron not George.
