The Porch Monkeys are a five piece blues based rock band located in Melbourne.
They officially formed last year after deciding to get a little more serious after having jammed together for several years. All aged in their early twenties each member has their own musical interests however their sound is heavily influenced by the weaving guitar lines of the Rolling Stones, the blues based riffs of Lynyrd Skynyrd and the powerfully driven rhythm section of Led Zeppelin.
Their songs deal with themes such as drinking, Mexico and girls that don’t take a hint. These subjects may seem light-hearted but they are backed up by serious musicality including powerful guitar riffs, dominant vocals and extended jams.
Porch Monkeys are known for kicking back with a bottle of tequila and playing great live music, how all good music should be played.
